Ingredients

Alcohol Free

When alcohol contacts the skin it removes the natural oils and dries out the skin causing irritation. Attempting to replace natural oils with synthetic additives is not as effective as if they were never removed in the first place. Being alcohol free, our baby wipes do not remove the natural lubrication and oils from the skin which means they can be used on the most sensitive skin including eczema sufferers.

Lanolin Free

A small percentage of the population has an allergy to Lanolin so Clearly Herbal made the decision to remove lanolin from our natural baby wipes.

SLS Free

This inexpensive detergent is commonly used in cosmetic cleansers, hair shampoos, bath and shower gels, bubble baths, etc. - It is probably the most dangerous ingredient used in skin and hair-care products. In the cleaning industry SLS is used in garage floor cleaners, engine degreasers, car-wash soaps, etc. It is very corrosive and readily attacks greasy surfaces.

Sodium lauryl sulfate is used throughout the world for clinical testing as a primary skin irritant. Laboratories use it to irritate skin on test animals and humans so that they may then test healing agents to see how effective they are on the irritated skin.

Chlorine Free

Chlorine is a chemical that creates substances called dioxins, which many scientists believe are extremely harmful to the environment, animals and humans.

Paraben Free

Synthetic preservatives, known as parabens, are a group of chemicals widely used to preserve food, cosmetics, and therapeutic products. Paraben is the common name for this class of chemical, however, they are also known by other names such as esters of p-hydroxybenzoic acid. Other common names include methylparagen, propylparaben, ethylparaben, and butylparaben. Despite their widespread use, studies have shown that these preservatives can cause women to be more susceptible to breast cancer, and have also been linked to birth defects.

Tee Tree Oil

Tea Tree Oil is a powerful, yet gentle natural antiseptic and disinfectant. It is renowned for its remarkable activity against bacteria and fungi. Its soothing and antibacterial properties can be used to treat nappy rash, psoriasis, acne, and many other skin conditions.

Aloe Vera

Extensive research of Aloe Vera since the 1930's has shown that the clear gel has a dramatic ability to heal wounds, ulcers and burns by putting a protective coating on the affected areas and speeding up the healing rate. Those wise to the ways of aloe healing keep this plant in the kitchen. When the leaf is broken, its gel is placed on burns to relieve pain and prevent blisters. Aloe may reduce inflammation, decrease swelling and redness, and accelerate wound healing. Aloe can aid in keeping the skin supple, and has been used in the control of acne and eczema. It can relieve itching due to insect bites and allergies. Aloe's healing power come from increasing the availability of oxygen to the skin, and by increasing the synthesis and strength of tissue. Did you know that the skin absorbs Aloe Vera up to four times faster than water? It appears that Aloe Vera can actually help the pores of the skin to open and receive the moisture and nutrients of Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera has been used successfully for a variety of skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis, acne, chronic itching, skin ulcers, and burns.

Green Tea Extract

Green Tea is a Natural antioxidant that helps promote the body’s healing.

Purified and de-ionsed water

Purified and de-ionized water is produced through combining the process of distillation. Distilled water is a steam based purification process, which removes the hard chemicals and bacteria from the pure water using high temperatures. Deionization is done by filtering out ions that have negative charges within your water supply. This kind of filtering process is also referred to as being ion-exchange treated. De-ionized water is used as an "ingredient" in Clearly Herbal Natural Baby Wipes to remove any potential of undesired chemical reactions that can be caused by impurities.

Cocamidopropyl Betaine

Didecyldimonium chloride

Phenoxyethanol: a broad-range preservative with fungicidal, bactericidal, insecticidal, and germicidal properties. Phenoxyethanol is an organic chemical compound, a glycol ether often used in dermatological products such as skin creams. It is a colorless oily liquid. It is a bactericide (usually used in conjunction with quaternary ammonium compounds), often used in place of sodium azide in biological buffers as 2-phenoxyethanol is less toxic and non-reactive with copper and lead. It is also used as a fixative for perfumes, an insect repellent, a topical antiseptic, a solvent for cellulose acetate, some dyes, inks, and resins, in preservatives, pharmaceuticals, and in organic synthesis. It is moderately soluble in water.

While we endeavour to keep our range as natural as possible, our main concern is always your safety. Any product that contains water provides a breeding ground for bacteria, yeast, and fungi. With this in mind we have made ethical decisions on the use of the preservatives used in these products.
